USA – Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. de C.V., the world’s largest baking company, has named Alejandro Rodríguez Bas as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Rafael Pamias Romero, who has stepped down to focus on personal and health matters.
The announcement was made on November 6, 2025. Rodríguez Bas joined Grupo Bimbo in 2021 and has served as president of Grupo Bimbo’s Barcel Global snacks division and as a member of the executive committee.
Alejandro Rodríguez Bas brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He holds a degree in industrial engineering and an MBA from Harvard University.
Before joining Grupo Bimbo, he spent a decade at PepsiCo, where he was CEO for the Australia and New Zealand markets.
He also served as CEO of Grupo Lala, a major Mexican dairy company.
Daniel Servitje, the executive chairman of Grupo Bimbo, praised Rodríguez Bas’s “strong commercial and operational expertise” and his proven track record in driving growth for major consumer brands.
Servitje highlighted Rodríguez Bas’s role in accelerating innovation, expanding the Barcel brand’s presence across multiple countries, and establishing manufacturing operations on different continents during the past four years.
Rafael Pamias Romero had an eight-year tenure with Grupo Bimbo, including the last 18 months as CEO.
His decision to step down allows him to address health-related and personal priorities.
Grupo Bimbo is the largest baking company globally, with annual revenues surpassing US$21 billion.
It operates in 39 countries and extends its presence to 52 additional countries through strategic partnerships.
The company manufactures a wide array of baked goods and snacks, making Rodríguez Bas’s leadership critical as the company aims to continue global expansion and innovation.
In his new role, Rodríguez Bas stated his commitment to driving growth by leveraging strong brands with global reach while maintaining a sharp focus on associates, clients, and consumers.
