Greenfield Milling marks dual milestones with Utah Flour Mill launch

This development positions Greenfield Milling as a leading player in the food ingredient supply chain, particularly in the bakery and snack food sectors.

USA – Greenfield Milling, a rising force in the U.S. grain supply chain, has announced two major milestones that signal its rapid expansion and strategic positioning in the food manufacturing sector.

The company officially opened its new flour milling facility in Richmond, Utah, while simultaneously securing a multi-year production agreement through the lease of assets from Panhandle Milling in Texas.

This development positions Greenfield Milling as a rising leader in the food ingredient supply chain, particularly for the bakery and snack food sectors.

The Utah facility, a state-of-the-art milling operation, is designed to supply flour directly to Campbell’s Pepperidge Farm plant located next door.

This proximity enables a seamless pneumatic transfer system that delivers flour to produce iconic snacks, such as Goldfish Crackers and Milano Cookies.

The partnership is backed by a 20-year supply agreement, underscoring Greenfield’s commitment to long-term reliability and operational efficiency.

Founded in 2022 by grain industry veterans John Mason and Bryan Ledgerwood, Greenfield Milling has quickly positioned itself as a key player in domestic flour production.

The Utah mill boasts a daily capacity of 7,500 hundredweight (CWTS) and offers flexible packaging options ranging from 2 to 50 pounds, catering to both industrial and retail clients.

Plans are already underway for the 2026 expansion that will introduce advanced blending capabilities and warehouse automation.

In tandem with the Utah launch, Greenfield has entered into a lease agreement for select assets from Panhandle Milling in Hereford, Texas.

This move enables the company to produce organic and gluten-free mixes for tortillas, pizza dough, pancakes, and other baked goods.

The Texas operation is supported by a multi-year deal with a national bakery and restaurant manufacturer, further expanding Greenfield’s footprint in the foodservice and retail sectors.

Greenfield’s growth is also boosted by its strategic partnership with NIPPN Corporation of Japan, which holds a minority stake in the company.

This international collaboration signals potential for future global expansion and innovation in milling technologies.

“These milestones reflect our vision to modernize flour production while meeting the evolving needs of our partners,” said co-founder John Mason.

“We’re building a supply chain that’s not only efficient but also adaptable to the demands of today’s food industry.”

With its dual achievements in Utah and Texas, Greenfield Milling is setting a new standard for integrated, sustainable grain supply solutions across North America.
