The Moroccan expansion reflects Dodo Pizza’s commitment to tapping into high-potential markets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region

MOROCCO – Global pizza chain Dodo Pizza has announced its official entry into the Moroccan market through a strategic master-franchise agreement with local partner M&I Group, marking a significant milestone in its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) growth strategy.
The partnership will kick off with the opening of two flagship outlets in Rabat by 2026, followed by a phased rollout targeting 35 locations nationwide by 2034.
Founded in Russia in 2011, Dodo Pizza has rapidly grown into one of the world’s most tech-driven pizza brands, operating over 700 stores across 13 countries.
The company is known for its proprietary software platform, Dodo IS, which streamlines operations, enhances customer experience, and provides real-time transparency across its franchise network.
The Moroccan expansion reflects Dodo Pizza’s commitment to tapping into high-potential markets in the MENA region, where rising urbanisation, a youthful demographic, and increasing demand for fast-casual dining are driving growth in the foodservice sector.
By partnering with M&I Group, a seasoned player in Morocco’s franchising landscape, Dodo aims to localise its offerings while maintaining global standards of quality and efficiency.
M&I Group will oversee site selection, recruitment, and operational execution, leveraging its deep understanding of Moroccan consumer behavior and retail dynamics.
The initial Rabat outlets will serve as brand showcases, introducing Dodo’s signature menu, featuring handcrafted pizzas, appetisers, and desserts made with fresh ingredients, to a new audience.
The long-term plan includes expanding into key urban centers such as Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier, and Agadir, with a mix of dine-in, delivery, and digital-first formats tailored to local preferences.
Dodo Pizza’s tech-forward model is expected to resonate with Morocco’s digitally connected youth, offering app-based ordering, real-time kitchen tracking, and transparent pricing.
Industry analysts view the move as a bold but calculated step, positioning Dodo Pizza to compete with established international and regional chains in Morocco’s evolving quick-service restaurant (QSR) landscape.
The brand’s emphasis on operational transparency, franchisee support, and customer-centric innovation could give it a competitive edge.
The Dodo Pizza–M&I Group alliance is poised to build a strong pizza brand presence in Morocco, contributing to the country’s vibrant food and beverage landscape and capitalising on the growth opportunities within the dynamic MENA region market.
As Dodo Pizza prepares to fire up its ovens in Rabat, the partnership with M&I Group signals more than just market entry; it’s a recipe for long-term growth, regional relevance, and a slice of success in North Africa’s dynamic food scene.
