MEXICO – CESCO EPC, a leading provider of engineering, procurement, and construction services, has successfully completed the supply and integration of advanced material handling systems for a 70,000-tonne silo expansion project in Jalisco, Mexico.
This development aims to bolster the facility’s wheat storage and handling capabilities, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
The expansion, which began and concluded in 2024, included the installation of a 14° inclined chain conveyor and an enclosed belt conveyor system. These upgrades are essential for high-capacity grain movement, offering improved efficiency while minimizing dust emissions.
The project included the installation of RBC Roller Belt Conveyors (RBC1000E), engineered for smooth, efficient, and dust-free grain transportation. These conveyors are designed to minimize grain damage and ensure optimal operational performance.
Additionally, Chain Conveyors (CC900) were integrated into the system, built for durability and high-capacity performance to handle heavy loads with seamless efficiency. The entire system boasts a conveying capacity of 850 tonnes per hour, supporting high-throughput operations with consistent efficiency and reliability.
Jalisco has been a key agricultural hub in Mexico, and investments in storage and processing infrastructure play a critical role in supporting both domestic and export markets. This expansion not only strengthens the region’s supply chain but also aligns with broader efforts to modernize grain handling facilities across Mexico.
The completion of this project further reinforces CESCO EPC’s global footprint in large-scale grain handling solutions. In December 2024, the company also made significant progress on a grain terminal project in Saudi Arabia for the United Feed Company.
The Saudi project included the construction of 15 corrugated steel flat-bottom storage silos, boasting a total capacity of 205,152 tonnes for wheat and soybean meal, along with high-capacity conveying systems and advanced bagging lines.
The Saudi project featured two high-capacity receiving grain lines, each with a throughput of 400 tonnes per hour (tph), alongside two 125 tph lines dedicated to soy meal. This setup ensures a consistent daily intake, essential for UFC’s production needs.
In addition, recently, CESCO EPC partnered with SIMEZA SILOS, a renowned leader in grain storage solutions, to deliver a state-of-the-art turnkey grain storage and processing plant for Société Camerounaise de Transformation de Blé (SCTB) Cameroon.
