Even with a slightly smaller harvest, stocks and carry-over from the previous year position the country to supply both domestic grain demand and export markets.

The collaboration has enabled Botselo Mills to supply more than 120 tonnes of maize products.

The arrangement is intended to cushion the country against potential shortages and ease pressure on consumers facing rising unga prices.

Farmers say the new price goes against government policy and will result in heavy losses.
