The company launched the new site to expand production capabilities and meet growing demand for decorative toppings and cake decorations from both retail and food-service customers across North America.

The initiative, implemented primarily through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), aims to reduce post-harvest losses, lower transportation costs, improve farmers’ access to storage, and strengthen the country’s food-security system.

The initiative brings together Olam Agri’s existing baker-development programmes across several African markets under a broader platform designed to expand skills development and economic opportunities in the baking sector.

The strategy combines Chinese expertise in high-yield hybrid rice with Brazilian agricultural technology and investment, reflecting Conakry’s wider push to modernize farming, improve productivity and reduce reliance on imported rice.

The new phase follows three previous stages of PAPRIZ that helped improve farmers’ technical skills, promote better cultivation practices and increase rice productivity.
