BRAZIL – Cargill and BinSentry have announced a strategic partnership to introduce AI-powered tools that will optimize Brazil’s animal feed supply chains and boost profitability for pork and poultry producers.
Under the agreement, Cargill became the exclusive distributor of BinSentry’s animal feed inventory management platform in Brazil, further strengthening their collaboration that began in North America.
By integrating BinSentry’s cutting-edge sensor technology with Cargill’s extensive expertise in sustainable food production, the partnership aims to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and provide real-time feed management solutions.
Marcelo Dalmagro, Strategic Marketing and Technology Leader for Cargill Animal Nutrition in South America, emphasised the significance of this initiative:
“Cargill, a global leader with over 150 years of history, is proud to team up with BinSentry, a growing ag-tech innovator, to bring cutting-edge technology to Brazil. This partnership will help producers optimise their operations, increase the competitiveness of Brazilian agribusinesses, and strengthen Brazil’s position as a leading exporter of pork and poultry.”
BinSentry’s robust, easy-to-install sensors are already monitoring over 25,000 feed bins across the United States and Canada.
These solar-powered, self-cleaning sensors provide 99% accuracy in tracking feed levels, eliminating the need for manual inventory checks.
The proprietary software and mobile dashboard allow producers to manage feed in real-time, preventing costly out-of-feed events and improving overall supply chain efficiency.
Combined with Cargill’s animal nutrition, logistics, and analytics solutions, BinSentry’s platform transforms data into actionable insights, enhancing process control, reducing transportation costs, and lowering feed conversion ratios for increased profitability.
“Intelligent process automation is the new frontier in animal production,” said Ben Allen, CEO of BinSentry. “Animal feed represents 60% to 70% of total production costs, so both industry and producers benefit from advancements in precision feed monitoring, supply chain management, and planning.”
Despite Brazil’s reputation as a global leader in livestock and poultry production, its vast and diverse landscape presents significant management challenges.
Partnering with BinSentry will enable the industry to overcome these challenges by improving efficiency in the animal feed supply chain.
“We pride ourselves on deeply understanding producers and continually seeking solutions to their challenges. Now, in addition to Cargill’s high-performance nutrition and health products, we are bringing an AI-powered management tool to the Brazilian market that will help producers unlock savings and make data-based decisions that improve their operations and bottom line,” concluded Dalmagro.
