This accreditation certifies Bureau Veritas Uganda as a reliable service provider for inspections, verifications, and quality assessments of traded agricultural commodities globally.

UGANDA – Bureau Veritas Uganda has officially received accreditation as an Approved Superintendent by the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) following a rigorous assessment and audit process that concluded in February 2025.
The GAFTA accreditation serves as a quality assurance seal, confirming that Bureau Veritas Uganda meets the highest standards established by one of the most respected international trade organizations in the grain and feed sector.
As a GAFTA-accredited member, Bureau Veritas Uganda is authorized to offer a comprehensive range of services, including quality inspections, sampling, and laboratory testing.
“Bureau Veritas Uganda can now provide dependable inspection and testing services that align with international contractual and regulatory requirements,” “Gaining GAFTA accreditation is a strong endorsement of our commitment to excellence, integrity, and technical competence in agricultural testing and inspection,” said Cyprian Kabbis, Area Chief Executive for Bureau Veritas Eastern Africa.
Achieving GAFTA accreditation involves a thorough process. For Bureau Veritas Uganda, it began with an internal self-assessment to ensure that its services met GAFTA’s stringent quality requirements. This was followed by a formal application for accreditation.
The next step included an exhaustive audit initiated by GAFTA, which evaluated Bureau Veritas Uganda’s documentation, quality control mechanisms, and operational processes. After successfully meeting all criteria, the company was granted GAFTA accreditation.
“We’re proud to contribute to the strength and transparency of the agricultural supply chain both in Uganda and across the continent,” “This accreditation assures our clients that they can rely on us for objective, internationally benchmarked quality assessments that support their business,” added Kabbis.
GAFTA is an international trade association with over 1,900 members in 100 countries. Its mission is to promote international trade in agricultural commodities, spices, and general produce, while also protecting its members’ interests worldwide.
GAFTA members enjoy numerous benefits, including discounted fees for international dispute resolution services for contractual disputes, authorization to operate as superintendents, analysts, and fumigators.
Members can also access the organization’s training and networking events such as the Distance Learning Programme (DLP) and Gafta Professional Development (GPD) to increase understanding of international trade practices and contractual issues.
