The new NovaBlue II and NovaWhite give millers more options for food safety, performance, and cost control while building on Bühler‘s recent equipment updates.

SWITZERLAND – Bühler has expanded its range of brushless sieve cleaners with the launch of NovaBlue II and NovaWhite, giving flour millers new options to improve sifting performance while meeting different food safety and budget needs.
The two products build on the original NovaBlue, which entered the market in 2017. Bühler developed the latest models to improve cleaning performance, support food safety requirements, and help mills maintain steady operations.
NovaBlue II focuses on food safety through magnetic detectability. The cleaner contains ferrite additives that allow magnetic systems to identify any fragments if they enter the production line. Its blue material also makes it easy to spot during visual inspections, helping mills meet stricter food safety standards.
NovaWhite delivers the same cleaning performance but does not include magnetic or visual detectability features. Bühler said the model offers a lower cost option for millers that do not require those extra compliance measures.
Both cleaners feature a new shape that moves more freely inside sieve stacks, allowing them to clean sieves more effectively. They also include a built in wear indicator that shows when replacement is due, helping operators avoid unnecessary downtime and maintain consistent flour quality.
The new cleaners work with all Bühler sieve stack versions, including Nova, NovaTec, and NovaPur. They are suitable for processing wheat, rye, durum, and hard wheat, giving mills flexibility across different grain types. By removing traditional bristles, the design also reduces wear and waste while maintaining strong cleaning performance.
The launch follows another recent equipment update from Bühler with the introduction of the Lucent industrial cocoa nib roaster. The company said the system reduces energy use by at least 20% per tonne of cocoa while increasing production by up to 20% within the same factory space.
“Roasting is where flavor is created. It is one of the steps our customers care about most, and it has historically been the step where the most energy is wasted. Lucent enhances flavor control while reducing energy use,” said Isabelle Kirckof, Product Manager Market Segment Cocoa & Malt at Bühler.
“Food safety standards in the cocoa and chocolate industry are tightening, and our customers need equipment that meets those standards structurally, not through process workarounds,” added Joachim Essig, Head of Sales Cocoa & Malt at Bühler.
With the addition of NovaBlue II and NovaWhite alongside Lucent, Bühler continues to add equipment that helps food processors improve product quality, strengthen food safety, reduce waste, and lower operating costs.
