BoMill launches BoMill InSight™ HiFlex for large-scale grain handling

The launch marks BoMill‘s entry into a segment beyond its existing customer base of flour mills, malthouses and grain cooperatives, extending its patented single-kernel sorting technology to operators handling much larger grain volumes.

SWEDEN- BoMill AB has officially announced the commercial launch of BoMill InSight™ HiFlex, a new scalable grain-sorting solution designed to extend the company’s precision sorting technology into large-scale grain terminals and high-volume grain handling operations.

Built on BoMill’s patented Near Infrared Transmittance (NIT) technology, the new HiFlex system performs precision, individual-kernel sorting by protein content at an industrial scale, allowing large-scale operators to maximize crop value and optimize supply chain efficiency.

The initial turnkey configuration of the BoMill InSight™ HiFlex is housed within a mobile 40-foot container structure capable of processing an impressive 200 metric tons of grain per hour.

This high-capacity deployment offers flexible, plug-and-play integration for grain terminals, ports, and bulk handling facilities, enabling easy relocation between operational sites.

Furthermore, the modular design allows the platform to scale to even higher throughput volumes or be permanently integrated into existing industrial grain processing lines, depending on specific customer requirements.

By sorting individual grain kernels according to their internal quality profile, the HiFlex platform solves a critical economic challenge for grain suppliers and buyers.

One key application is separating grain by protein content before it is sold or processed.

BoMill said grain suppliers can use the technology to optimize batches to specific protein requirements, potentially reducing excess protein that adds no value while lowering the risk of grain falling below contractual specifications.

For exporters and traders, the high-speed system separates grain batches into precise protein tiers before sale, eliminating the risk of uncompensated excess protein or price penalties caused by sub-specification shipments.

For commercial flour millers and maltsters, consistent sorting ensures optimized raw material utilization, lower blending costs, and reliable product consistency.

The technology could therefore provide an additional tool for managing grain quality amid variations in crop characteristics, market requirements, and customer specifications.

BoMill’s executive leadership emphasized that the launch marks a key commercial milestone, opening significant market opportunities beyond its traditional mill-level processing client base.

Developed in direct response to industry demand for higher capacity and operational flexibility, the solution broadens BoMill’s commercial reach while complementing its existing portfolio of compact and medium-scale sorting systems.

The BoMill InSight™ HiFlex is commercially available immediately, with multiple international customer projects and technical evaluations already underway across major grain trading hubs.

The launch also broadens BoMill’s product offering for established customers in flour milling and malting while opening a new segment in high-volume grain handling.
