MALI – AXOR, a leading company specializing in pasta processing technologies and a member of Alapala Holding, has announced a significant expansion into Mali with the construction of a state-of-the-art pasta factory.
The facility will feature both a 2,000 kg/h (2T/H) short-cut pasta line and a 2,000 kg/h (2T/H) long-cut pasta line, positioning it as the most automated pasta production site in the country. This development underscores AXOR’s commitment to advancing food production capabilities across Africa.
The project is set to commence in the coming months, with AXOR overseeing the engineering, manufacturing, and installation of the complete turn-key facility.
While specific details about the project’s timeline and partnerships have yet to be disclosed, the initiative reflects a concerted effort to enhance Mali’s industrial capabilities and provide high-quality pasta products to meet domestic demand.
This initiative aligns with AXOR’s history of delivering tailored solutions in the food industry, having installed over 150 production lines worldwide, including in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
This venture into Mali follows AXOR’s recent projects in Africa, including the establishment of the first pasta factory in Togo, which features a 1,000 kg/h short-cut line and an upcoming 2,000 kg/h long-cut line.
In December 2024, AXOR commissioned a short-cut pasta production line in Pakistan with a capacity of 2,000 kilograms per hour.
Additionally, in August 2024, AXOR signed a contract with MENA Food Chad to construct Chad’s first pasta factory, expected to be operational by mid-2025 with a production capacity of 2,000 kilograms per hour.
These projects demonstrate AXOR’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that support sustainable development in the regional and global food industry.
AXOR’s expansion into Mali is anticipated to enhance the local food processing industry, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the country’s economic development, aligning with a broader trend across Africa, where nations are investing in local pasta production to boost food security and stimulate economic growth.
For instance, in October 2024, Burkina Faso launched the construction of an 8.5 billion CFA francs (US$14.4 million) pasta manufacturing unit in Koulpélé. This facility, named Anadolu Industrie, is expected to produce 100 tons of pasta daily and includes a flour mill with a matching capacity, supplied by local wheat producers cultivating 2,000 hectares of land.
