AGRIMAC delivers new 600 T/D semolina production facility in Mardin, Türkiye

Semolina production remains a critical link in the supply chain for durum wheat end uses such as pasta, bulgur and couscous.

TÜRKIYE – AGRIMAC has commissioned a new semolina production facility with a combined capacity of 2 × 300 tons per day (T/D) in the southeastern province of Mardin, reinforcing regional grain processing infrastructure and meeting rising demand for durum wheat derivatives.

Precisely, the project supports Azim Group Holding’s broader strategy to integrate semolina supply with its expanding pasta operations under the Akhan Makarna brand.

According to AGRIMAC, the Mardin facility expands Türkiye’s capacity to produce high-value semolina, a coarse durum wheat product central to pasta and couscous manufacturing.

This facility was delivered for Azim Group Holding to supply semolina for their new pasta production line (Akhan Makarna), supporting regional food processing capacity. We thank all stakeholders for their cooperation throughout the project,” the company posted on LinkedIn.

Mesopotamia, where this plant sits, is widely recognised as one of the earliest centres of wheat cultivation, anchoring grain-based food production for millennia.

The completed semolina line advances this heritage into modern industrial output, linking local agriculture with processing and food manufacturing.

AGRIMAC’s delivered plant reflects the company’s positioning in flour, semolina, and feed mill engineering.

It manufactures grain handling and processing systems, including silo, cleaning, conveying and food production equipment, serving markets in Türkiye and beyond.

Last year, AGRIMAC contributed to the development of an 800-ton-per-day (tpd) flour mill for Rotana in Sudan, in collaboration with Alapros Grain Milling Technology, underscoring its capabilities in large-capacity mill projects.

The company also supported Rotana Flour Mills in Sudan with turn-key delivery of two ship unloaders rated at 600 tons per hour each, enhancing port efficiency and material transfer for one of the region’s major wheat processors.
