Alapros bolsters Sudan’s flour industry with 800-tpd mill for Rotana Flour Mills

SUDAN – Alapros Grain Milling Technology, a global leader in advanced milling solutions, has announced the successful commissioning of an 800-ton-per-day (tpd) flour mill for Rotana Flour Mills in Sudan.

This milestone project highlights Alapros’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology and high-performance milling systems tailored to meet regional market demands.

The project was brought to life through a strong partnership between Alapros and AGRIMAC, leveraging a blend of innovation, technical expertise, and project management excellence.

Special recognition was extended to Okçul Barlık and the entire ALAPROS AGRIMILL team for their dedication and outstanding efforts in delivering the state-of-the-art facility on schedule.

“A special thanks to our partner Okçul Barlık and the entire ALAPROS AGRIMILL team for their dedication and outstanding efforts in bringing this project to life,” Alapros said.

The new mill, equipped with Alapros’ advanced milling technologies, promises enhanced operational efficiency and product quality, positioning Rotana Flour Mills as a key player in Sudan’s flour industry.

The launch of the 800-tpd capacity mill comes at a pivotal time as Sudan pushes for self-sufficiency in flour production.

Established in April 2014, Rotana Mills plays a key role in supporting the food security agenda in Sudan.

Acting Minister of Industry, Mahasin Ali Yagoub, recently visited Rotana Flour Mills and praised its timely entry into the production cycle.

The Minister praised the administration of Rotana Mills and their engagement into investing in the flour industry and its associated industries, adding that this work came at an important time after the exit of mills in the states affected by the war, mainly Khartoum and Al-Gezira states, from the production cycle, which led to a deficit in the required quantity of flour.

Mahasin added that the entry of Rotana Mills into the production cycle will contribute greatly to bridging the gap, calling for investment in the flour industry sector to cover local demand and prepare for export with the virtue of the state’s incentive policies in replacing imports and maximizing exports.

Mahasin stated that the country is expecting promising wheat production this year due to the state’s plan to increase the agricultural area and use modern technologies, which contributes to reducing wheat imports

Alapros’ advanced technology and expertise are expected to play a critical role in strengthening Sudan’s food production capacity and supporting the country’s ambitious plans to reduce wheat imports and promote local flour production.
