WK Kellogg launches Cocoa Loops, a chocolatey twist on a breakfast classic

Each serving provides 17 grams of whole grains, is a good source of fibre, and is an excellent source of iron.

USA – WK Kellogg Co., the iconic cereal maker renowned for its breakfast-food legacy, introduced Cocoa Loops in 2025, a new chocolate-flavoured loop-shaped cereal aimed at children and families seeking fun, flavorful, and convenient breakfast options.

This launch strengthens WK Kellogg’s portfolio of beloved cereals and taps into growing consumer demand for indulgent yet nutritionally balanced morning meals.

Cocoa Loops joins a lineage of chocolate cereals that began with the original Cocoa Krispies, first introduced in the United States in 1958.

Formulated with real cocoa and packed with six essential vitamins and minerals, Cocoa Loops offer both indulgence and nutrition.

Each serving provides 17 grams of whole grains, is a good source of fibre, and is an excellent source of iron.

Additionally, the cereal contains no artificial colors, aligning with growing consumer demand for cleaner labels and more wholesome ingredients.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Cocoa Loops, an exciting new cocoa twist on a fan favourite,” said Doug VanDeVelde, Chief Growth Officer at WK Kellogg.

“Toucan Sam has always been a chocolate fanatic, and we’re proud to bring this innovation to the world on his behalf. This launch is a great example of how our beloved mascot and trusted brand continue to evolve alongside today’s consumers, bringing joy and nourishment to their everyday moments.”

Cocoa Loops are being distributed to retailers nationwide and are expected to be available at all major retailers by January 2026, with a suggested retail price of US$5.29.

The rollout will include in-store promotions and digital campaigns featuring Toucan Sam, who now embraces his chocolate-loving side as part of this latest brand evolution.

The introduction of Cocoa Loops reflects WK Kellogg’s broader commitment to reinventing breakfast by blending nostalgic flavors with modern nutritional standards.

It also signals the company’s intent to compete more aggressively in the chocolate cereal category, which has seen renewed interest among both children and adults seeking indulgent yet balanced morning options.

With its crunchy texture, rich cocoa flavour, and nutrient-packed profile, Cocoa Loops is poised to become a new breakfast staple on aisles across the country.

This launch further underscores WK Kellogg’s position as a pioneer in the cereal aisle, continuing to innovate while honoring the company’s rich heritage of creating beloved breakfast brands that start the day right with flavor and joy.
