Scoular has sold its sunflower and wild bird food blending business, including the Winkler, Manitoba processing facility, to Orenda Commodity Services Ltd.; the deal closed Jan. 19, 2026, with financial terms undisclosed.

The landmark deal positions Cobram Estate as the largest olive oil producer in the US, significantly expanding its footprint in California and strengthening its global market presence.

The facility is equipped with modern machinery capable of crushing 5 metric tonnes of oilseed per day and refining 500 litres of edible oil daily, a development expected to enhance local value addition, reduce reliance on imported oils, and improve farmer incomes.
