St Pierre launches limited-edition spicy brioche buns

The launch comes as demand for spicy foods continues to rise across Europe, with consumers increasingly embracing sweet-and-heat flavor combinations and gourmet burger trends.

USA – St Pierre Bakery has rolled out its first-ever limited-edition product, Spicy Brioche Burger Buns, now available at major retailers nationwide ahead of the summer grilling season.

The seasonal line is available through the end of August, designed to drive incremental sales during the summer peak and to target shoppers seeking restaurant-style indulgence at home.

The Spicy Brioche Burger Bun features a chilli-infused brioche dough that delivers a nuanced heat, balanced by the subtle sweetness of authentic brioche, with a savoury breadcrumb topping of dried onion, garlic, and smoked paprika offering additional textural contrast.

The product marks a notable departure for the brand, which has built its US market position on classic brioche formats since entering the market more than a decade ago.

The rise of “swicy” (sweet-and-spicy) flavour combinations continues to accelerate across the US food industry, with Datassential reporting that nearly one in ten US restaurant menus now feature sweet-and-spicy items.

St Pierre’sPierre’s new launch is positioned to translate that out-of-home trend directly into the retail bakery aisle.

Kayleigh Swift, US Brand Manager at St Pierre Bakery, said the launch reflects both a consumer shift and a strategic opportunity for retailers.

We know that consumers are looking for more adventurous mealtime options, particularly during grilling season. The ”swicy” trend has gained traction in out-of-home and increasingly, such trends make their way into home kitchens,” she said.

Swift also highlighted the brand’s broader ambition: “St Pierre is built on the idea that every meal should be an occasion, and our new Spicy Brioche Burger Buns are designed to be a staple of the summer entertaining table. By blending our authentic French brioche with a nuanced, chilli-infused heat, we’re giving home cooks and grilling enthusiasts the opportunity to master the ”swicy” trend effortlessly.

The Spicy Brioche Buns are available from selected Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, Redners, Uncle Giuseppe, McCaffreys, Big Y, Fareway, and HyVee stores nationwide, backed with a 360-degree support plan featuring in-store activations, sampling, influencer marketing, and consumer PR, alongside the return of the St Pierre “Eat, Avec, Respect” brand campaign.

The introduction of the Spicy Brioche Buns further strengthens St Pierre’sPierre’s reputation for innovation while supporting its broader mission of bringing premium French-inspired bakery products to mainstream retail shelves.

The seasonal offering is expected to attract attention from consumers seeking new taste experiences throughout the summer months.
