Rudi’s teams up with Hormel to launch Gluten-Free PB&J Sandwiches

Each sandwich is individually wrapped and sold in four-count boxes for US$8.99.

USA – Rudi’s Rocky Mountain Bakery, in collaboration with Hormel’s Justin’s brand, has introduced a new line of gluten-free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches called Gluten Free Sandos.

The launch responds to growing consumer demand for allergen-friendly, convenient snacks, especially among families seeking healthier lunchbox options.

The new gluten-free Sandos feature crustless bread made from non-GMO ingredients and are filled with low-sugar fruit spreads and creamy peanut butter from Hormel’s Justin’s brand.

Available in two classic flavors, peanut butter & grape and peanut butter & strawberry, the sandwiches are designed to deliver sentimental comfort with modern nutritional standards.

Each sandwich is individually wrapped and sold in four-count boxes for US$8.99.

Initial retail rollout includes Giant, Hy-Vee, King Soopers, and Wakefern stores, with broader distribution expected in the coming months.

The product is positioned as a freezer-friendly, grab-and-go solution for busy families, travellers, and health-conscious consumers.

The partnership between Rudi’s and Justin’s reflects a shared commitment to clean-label ingredients and sustainable sourcing.

Justin’s, known for its nut butters made without hydrogenated oils or artificial additives, complements Rudi’s mission to offer better-for-you baked goods that don’t compromise on taste or texture.

Beyond gluten-free options, Rudi’s is also expanding its Sandos line with nut-free versions, utilising Voyage Roasted Seed Spread, to cater to school-safe and allergy-friendly environments.

These alternatives provide 6 to 11 grams of protein per sandwich and are made with organic fruit spreads that contain more fruit and less sugar than traditional jams.

With food sensitivities and dietary preferences becoming more prevalent, Rudi’s and Hormel’s collaboration signals a thoughtful evolution in snack innovation, bringing together convenience, nutrition, and inclusivity in one bite-sized package.

Additionally, the collaboration on Gluten-Free Sandos brings a beloved classic into the modern era by combining clean ingredients, allergy-conscious production, and reflective flavours, meeting the needs of modern consumers seeking convenience and health-conscious choices.

As portable PB&J sandwiches make a comeback, the gluten-free Sandos are set to become a staple in lunchboxes and freezer aisles nationwide.
