In his new role, Tate will oversee daily operations and collaborate with the board of directors to refine strategic objectives, drive profitability, and enhance service delivery
USA – Producer Ag, LLC, the strategic grain marketing joint venture formed between CHS Inc. and Mid-Kansas Cooperative (MKC), has appointed industry veteran Mike Tate as its new president, effective June 2, 2025.
Founded in 2023, Producer Ag represents a strategic alignment between CHS Inc., the largest U.S. farmer-owned cooperative with more than $45.6 billion in revenue in FY2023, and MKC, a Kansas-based regional cooperative with over 11,000 members across Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.
The venture aims to streamline the grain supply chain in the Southern Plains by connecting local production to global markets through integrated logistics, merchandising, and storage capabilities.
Tate’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the joint venture, as it aims to build out an end-to-end cooperative grain supply chain to expand market access for producers across the U.S. Southern Plains. In his new role, Tate will oversee daily operations and collaborate with the board of directors to refine strategic objectives, drive profitability, and enhance service delivery to the company’s farmer-owners and global partners.
“Mike’s deep and vast experience in grain operations, supply chain and asset management, as well as his close connection to customers throughout his career make him the ideal choice for this position,” said Brad Stedman, board chair of Producer Ag and CEO of MKC.
“This is a pivotal time for Producer Ag as we advance our mission to connect customers to grain markets worldwide. I am excited to welcome Mike and work alongside him to position the joint venture for success.”
Tate joins Producer Ag after more than two decades at Bunge Global SA, a leading global agribusiness and food company.
At Bunge, Tate held multiple leadership roles spanning grain origination, export logistics, and biofuels. Most recently, he served as Director of Origination, where he led the development of strategies to optimize grain flow and asset utilization across Bunge’s U.S.-based grain elevators and soybean processing plants.
In that role, Tate worked closely with producers and cooperatives to integrate local origination with global supply chains, an experience that aligns with Producer Ag’s cooperative-driven ethos.
He has also served as a district commercial manager in Mississippi, general manager of an ethanol production facility, and export operations manager at a major grain terminal in Louisiana, key logistics points along the Mississippi River system.
Tate holds a B.Sc. in Business Management from Louisiana State University and serves on the board of the National Grain and Feed Association, underscoring his involvement in agricultural policy and regulatory advocacy.
