Premier Protein enters baking category in Partnership with Hometown Food Company

The new lineup delivers 13 to 15 grams of protein per serving and expands the brand’s ongoing innovation across frozen and baking categories, just in time for New Year’s protein resolutions!

USA – Premier Protein, a leading high-protein brand and a subsidiary of Post Holdings, Inc., has partnered with Hometown Food Company to introduce innovative muffin mixes and microwavable muffin cups, targeting health-conscious consumers seeking convenient breakfast options.

The lineup features Blueberry and Chocolate Chip flavors, delivering 13 to 15 grams of protein per serving to support New Year’s fitness resolutions amid rising demand for functional snacks.

This expansion marks Premier Protein’s strategic push into the baking aisle, leveraging Hometown’s expertise with iconic brands like Pillsbury and Martha White.

The product range includes Premier Protein Muffin Mixes, which yield 12 muffins per box and cater to meal-prep enthusiasts planning weekly protein boosts, and Microwavable Muffin Cups ready in just 90 seconds for on-the-go snacking.

Each format emphasizes crave-worthy taste and nutritional value, positioning them as versatile solutions for busy mornings or afternoon pick-me-ups in a market where protein-enriched bakery items are surging.

Initial availability begins at Walmart and select nationwide retailers in early 2026, with broader rollouts planned throughout the year.

Dan Anglemyer, Chief Operating Officer of Hometown Food Company, emphasized the collaboration’s impact: “We’re thrilled to bring protein-powered convenience to a new category, making high-protein options seamless for daily routines.”

Nick Stiritz, General Manager and Vice President of Premier Protein US, added that the innovations build on the brand’s reputation for enjoyable, effective wellness products following successes in shakes, cereals, and pancakes.

This follows Premier Protein’s recognition as a top-growing brand in 2025, signalling confidence in category diversification.

The launch underscores a broader trend in the US food industry, where cross-category innovation is reshaping consumer expectations.

In the competitive bakery sector, these muffins intensify rivalry while promising enhanced retailer margins through premium, shelf-stable formats.

This partnership exemplifies how established players like Premier and Hometown fuse nutrition science with baking heritage to redefine snacking in 2026.
