pladis extends Jacob’s Mini Cheddars range with two limited-edition flavours

Both variants are designed to tap into a growing appetite for Mexican-inspired flavour profiles within the UK snacks market.

UK – pladis, the global snacking company behind some of the UK’s best-known brands, is expanding its Jacob’s Mini Cheddars range with two limited-edition flavours: Mini Cheddars Chipotle & Lime and Mini Cheddars Nacho Cheese.

The launch aims to build on the popularity of the long-running savoury snack brand while offering consumers new flavour options with a bold, contemporary twist.

The new additions arrive as snack manufacturers continue to lean into flavour innovation to keep established brands relevant in a competitive market.

Mini Cheddars has remained a favourite in the UK for years, known for its crunchy texture and cheddar-led taste, and pladis is now using that brand strength to test fresh flavour profiles that appeal to consumers looking for more variety.

Chipotle & Lime brings a smoky, tangy heat, while Nacho Cheese taps into the popularity of cheesy, indulgent snacking.

Mini Cheddars Chipotle & Lime flavour combines the smoky heat of chipotle peppers with the bright acidity of Lime, creating a vibrant and zesty taste, while Mini Cheddars Nacho Cheese flavour combines cheese with spices for a rich, savoury taste.

pladis said the limited-edition launch is part of its strategy to keep the Mini Cheddars range exciting for loyal shoppers while attracting new buyers.

The company has positioned the flavours as consumer-friendly innovations that stay true to the brand’s core identity while adding a more adventurous edge. Such launches are often used to create “We’re adding two exciting Mini Cheddars limited edition flavours to our popular baked snack range, just in time for this year’s summer of sport,” explains Kate Stokes, Marketing Manager, pladis UK&I.

Mini Cheddars Chipotle & Lime flavour and Mini Cheddars Nacho Cheese flavour are included in an engaging on-pack campaign running throughout this year’s summer of sport. The on-pack runs on Jacob’s sharing and grab bag formats across Crinklys BIG, Twiglets and Mini Cheddars Cheeselets baked snacks range. The campaign is timed to leverage these exciting sporting events, which are key for the crisps and snacks category, as sales rise steeply when friends and family gather to enjoy their favourite sports.

The new Mini Cheddars Chipotle & Lime flavour, available in a 150g sharing pack at RRP £2 (US$2.71) and a 90g PMP at £1.25 (US$1.69), alongside the Mini Cheddars Nacho Cheese flavour in a 150g sharing pack at RRP £2 (US$2.71), are rolling out across grocery, wholesale and convenience stores from the week commencing 6 April.

Both the shopper and retailer on-pack campaigns will run until 26 July 2026.
