Industry players meet at Sarit Centre Expo as Kenya’s grain sector faces shifting supply trends and rising food safety focus.

KENYA – The CMA Annual Technical Conference & Expo 2026 starts tomorrow at Sarit Centre Expo in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together players from across the grain value chain for two days of talks, networking and exhibitions.
The Cereal Millers Association brings together producers, traders, millers, regulators, technology providers and development partners. The forum focuses on grain quality, food safety systems and stronger coordination across Kenya’s milling sector serving more than 40 million consumers.
The association uses the theme “Chagua Safe, Chagua Smart” to guide discussions across the event. It also stresses food safety and operational efficiency across the sector.
FW Brands MEA, which brings together Milling Middle East & Africa Magazine and Feed Business Middle East & Magazine, will exhibit at booths 61 and 62. The team will showcase its merged publication, Milling & Feed Middle East & Africa Magazine and AFMASS Food Expo events that run across Africa.
The schedule includes Zambia & Southern Africa Edition, May 13-15, 2026 in Lusaka, Kenya & Eastern Africa Edition, July 15-17, 2026 in Nairobi, and Nigeria & Western Africa Edition, September 15-17, 2026 in Lagos. The team aims to connect with industry players and share market insights.
A United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) report published on March 18, 2026 shows Kenya’s grain output recovery. Maize production may rise 32.4 percent to 4.5 million metric tonnes in the 2026/27 marketing year.
Wheat output may grow 27.3 percent to 280,000 metric tonnes, while rice production may reach 225,000 metric tonnes. The report also shows a likely drop in imports as local supply improves and eases pressure on foreign exchange.
The event’s programme on day one will focus on technical issues such as compliance in fortification, aflatoxin risks, and trust in lab testing results. Industry experts will lead panel discussions and breakout sessions that address quality control and testing standards.
Day two will bring in senior leadership from industry and government. Discussions will focus on consumer trust in food products, changing buyer behavior, and the future of demand in Kenya’s grain sector. A press briefing will also take place with industry leaders addressing media questions on sector trends and market conditions.
Organizers say the event will support practical solutions for food safety and stronger market systems, “If you are serious about food safety, operational excellence, and positioning your brand within a qualified industry audience, this is where the conversations will happen.”
The expo will run on April 14 and 15, 2026 at Sarit Centre Expo in Nairobi. Organizers expect strong attendance from industry leaders, regulators and development partners. Organizers encourage early attendance.
