Pitfire Pizza opens first outlet in Abu Dhabi

The outlet will serve seasonal specials and vegetarian options, catering to the diverse tastes of Abu Dhabi’s cosmopolitan community.

UAE – Pitfire Pizza, the popular Dubai-born artisanal pizza brand, has launched its first outlet in Abu Dhabi, marking a bold expansion into the UAE capital at the bustling Waterfront Tower in Al Zahiyah.

This moderately sized venue, spanning prime waterfront real estate, offers diners authentic California-style artisanal pizzas and citywide delivery, catering to the emirate’s fast-paced urban lifestyle.

The opening elevates Pitfire’s UAE footprint to eight outlets, following strong performances in Dubai and Sharjah.

Founded in 1997 in Los Angeles, Pitfire has built a cult following for its wood-fired pies, blending premium ingredients like house-made dough, seasonal toppings, and innovative flavor profiles, such as truffle mushroom or spicy Calabrian chili.

In Abu Dhabi, the menu spotlights crowd-pleasers such as the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, a signature since the brand’s early days, alongside customizable options and vegan alternatives to tap into the region’s growing plant-based demand.

“This debut in Abu Dhabi aligns perfectly with the city’s vibrant food scene and diverse expat community,” said Pitfire UAE Managing Director Ahmed Khalil.

“Waterfront Tower’s location offers stunning views and accessibility, making it ideal for families, professionals, and pizza enthusiasts seeking quality without compromise.”

The outlet features cozy dine-in seating for 80 guests, a sleek open kitchen showcasing live pizza-making, and seamless integration with delivery apps like Talabat and Deliveroo for island-wide reach.

Pitfire’s UAE journey began in 2018 with its Dubai flagship, capitalizing on the Gulf’s pizza obsession, a market projected to grow 7.2% annually through 2030, per Statista, fueled by tourism recovery and millennial snacking trends.

The brand emphasizes sustainability, sourcing local produce where possible, and using eco-friendly packaging, resonating with the UAE’s Vision 2031 sustainability goals.

Early buzz from soft openings highlights quick service (pizzas ready in under 10 minutes) and competitive pricing, starting at AED 45 for personal pies.

As Abu Dhabi cements its status as a culinary hub, boosted by events like the ongoing Abu Dhabi Food Festival, Pitfire positions itself as a fresh contender against giants like PizzaExpress and Domino’s.

Industry watchers predict this outlet will capture 15% of Al Zahiyah’s casual dining market within a year, driven by social media hype and loyalty programs.

With plans for two more UAE sites in 2026, Pitfire’s Abu Dhabi launch signals a significant US fast-casual push into the Middle East’s US$10 billion QSR sector.
