INDIA – Mondelēz International has partnered with Belgian multinational snack company Lotus Bakeries to launch Lotus Biscoff to Indian consumers.
This launch marks a significant milestone as the first time Lotus Bakeries has authorized local manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of Lotus Biscoff cookies in any country globally.
This move ensures that consumers in India will enjoy the same authentic taste and high-quality standards that have made Lotus Biscoff a beloved snack worldwide.
India’s snacking market is one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving sectors in the country’s fast-moving consumer goods space.
The introduction of Lotus Biscoff locally is a strategic step by Mondelēz International to secure a strong leadership position in the premium cookies category.
It aims to provide Indian consumers with access to globally recognized, preferred snacking experiences without compromising authenticity or quality.
By establishing local production, Team India can better meet the growing demand for premium snacks amidst rising consumer interest in diverse and international flavors.
Under this partnership, Mondelēz India will lead the brand’s manufacturing, marketing, and distribution in the country, leveraging its deep marketing expertise and extensive distribution network.
Available in five pack sizes starting at just INR 10 (US$0.11), Biscoff will be launched nationwide across leading retail and online platforms.
The launch will also include partnerships with leading hotel chains, airlines, and coffee houses to serve this timeless cookie alongside consumers’ favourite hot beverages, extending the classic Biscoff experience to premium out-of-home moments.
The company is also collaborating with popular quick-service restaurants (QSRs) to bring the delightful Biscoff taste into beloved desserts, creating new ways for consumers to enjoy their favourite caramelized cookie flavour.
Industry analysts see the move as a powerful accelerator for Lotus Biscoff’s expansion across emerging markets, leveraging India’s large and youthful population, rising disposable incomes, and changing consumption patterns.
