Magnolia Bakery appoints Nathan Louer as new CEO

The appointment comes as Magnolia marks three decades since its founding and signals a shift toward more aggressive store growth and commercial partnerships.

USA – Magnolia Bakery has appointed Nathan Louer as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as the brand celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026.

Louer will lead Magnolia’s strategy to expand its domestic and international franchising footprint, grow retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) channels, and scale ecommerce operations.

Louer served as a seasoned quick-service restaurant executive with prior roles as Chief Brand Officer at Jamba and multiple leadership positions at Jimmy John’s, including Vice President of Brand Marketing and Activation.

He succeeds Bobbie Lloyd, who transitions to the newly created Chief Brand Officer role alongside her ongoing duties as Chief Baking Officer and co-owner.

Lloyd, who joined the company two decades ago and served nearly five years as CEO, will move into the newly created chief brand officer position while retaining responsibilities tied to product and baking as chief baking officer and as a co‑owner.

The leadership shift comes at a pivotal time for Magnolia Bakery, renowned worldwide for its banana pudding, cupcakes, and whimsical treats, as it accelerates expansion plans.

With 50 locations globally, including 40 international bakeries, the company aims to add 19 new sites by the end of 2026, featuring its first US franchised outlets in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Detroit, Louisville, Connecticut, Cleveland, and Staten Island.

Louer’s franchise expertise will drive growth across retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and e-commerce, building on recent launches like Frozen-to-Thaw Banana Pudding.

The latest expansion is Magnolia Bakery UAE, which officially opened its newest branch at Avenue Mall in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai.

Louer expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “Magnolia Bakery has seen tremendous growth, customer loyalty, and incredible staying power since first opening 30 years ago.”

“As we embark on this next phase of growth for the brand, I look forward to building on its strong foundation, expanding the brand’s franchising footprint, and bringing the joy of Magnolia Bakery to even more people across the globe.”

Lloyd echoed the sentiment: “As we celebrate Magnolia Bakery’s 30th anniversary, we’re also looking toward a bright brand future. This year will mark a significant growth period for the brand, and we’re excited to welcome Nathan and his wealth of knowledge to shepherd the company into this next chapter.”

This transition ensures continuity while fueling ambitious franchising and innovation amid a competitive US bakery market.
