LT Foods Q2 FY’27 revenue rises 17% to US$343.4M

The Basmati and speciality rice segment remained the firm’s largest growth engine, accounting for about 90% of total revenue in the first half of the fiscal year.

INDIA – LT Foods Limited, the maker of Daawat basmati rice and Royal rice brands, reported a 17% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue to Rs 3,253 crore (US$343.41M) in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026/27 (Q2 FY’27), supported by growth across its rice businesses and international markets.

Net profit rose 10% to Rs 180 crore (US$19M) for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 164 crore (US$17.31M) in the corresponding period last year.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 13% to Rs 358 crore (US$37.79M) from Rs 316 crore (US$33.36M) a year earlier.

However, the EBITDA margin narrowed to 11% from 11.4%, reflecting pressure from changes in business operations and increased brand investments.

Gross profit grew 12% to Rs 1,058 crore (US$111.69M), although the gross profit margin declined to 32.5% from 34.2%.

LT Foods’ performance was supported by its Basmati and other speciality rice portfolio, a key driver of the company’s growth.

For the first half of FY’27, revenue from this segment increased 27% year-on-year, reflecting demand across domestic and international markets.

The company’s ready-to-eat, ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat businesses also recorded an 8% increase in revenue during the first half, supported by demand for convenient food products.

For the six months ended September 30, 2026, LT Foods reported consolidated revenue of Rs 6,414 crore (US$677.56M), up 22% from Rs 5,273 crore (US$556.20M) in the corresponding period last fiscal year.

EBITDA rose 17% to Rs 721 crore (US$76.06M), while net profit increased 9% to Rs 364 crore (US$38.43M) from Rs 332 crore (US$35.02M).

India remained a major growth market, with the company reporting 24% year-on-year growth in the country during the first half.

During the quarter, LT Foods expanded its product portfolio with new offerings under its Daawat brand, including Daawat Delight and Daawat Rozana Platinum.

It also strengthened its biryani range with new-format products such as Biryani Masala Paste.

The company continues to invest in premium products, distribution expansion, consumer engagement and operational efficiency to strengthen its position in the global food market.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ashwani Arora said the first-half performance reflected the strength of the company’s brands, diversified international presence and disciplined execution across markets.

With operations spanning more than 85 countries, LT Foods is seeking to sustain growth through brand development, product innovation and expansion across established and emerging markets.
