GUINEA – Les Moulins d’Afrique (LMA), a subsidiary of the SONOCO Group, has reached a decisive milestone by obtaining the FSSC 22000 version 6 certification, a globally recognized standard for food safety management.

This certification underscores LMA’s commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and nutritious products to its customers and partners across Guinea and the wider sub-region.

LMA’s management has expressed deep gratitude to its employees, whose dedication and professionalism were instrumental in achieving this strategic goal.

FSSC 22000 is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and attests to the application of best risk management practices throughout the production chain.

LMA’s achievement of this certification highlights its dedication to stringent food safety measures, operational excellence, and continuous innovation. By securing this certification, LMA ensures that its products comply with the highest international food safety standards while strengthening customer and partner confidence through optimized production practices.

The company also reinforces its leadership position in Guinea’s agri-food industry and the regional milling market.

Since its establishment in 2012, LMA has grown into a dominant player in Guinea’s milling industry. The company operates one of the largest milling complexes in the sub-region, with a daily wheat milling capacity exceeding 900 tonnes.

It specializes in producing high-quality wheat flour and bran under the AGB brand, serving both professional bakers and consumers. LMA’s extensive production capacity ensures a stable supply of flour to meet domestic demand while allowing the company to remain competitive in the regional market.

The milling sector in Guinea is highly competitive, with players like Les Grands Moulins de Conakry and emerging firms such as Mamadou Bobo Barry competing for market share. However, LMA’s commitment to quality and efficiency has positioned it as a trusted leader in the industry.

In addition to food safety, LMA prioritizes the nutritional value of its products. The company fortifies its flour with essential vitamins and minerals, aligning with international health standards while addressing local nutritional needs.

This initiative contributes to improving public health and aligns with broader efforts to enhance food security in the region.

With the attainment of the FSSC 22000 certification, LMA embarks on a new phase of operational excellence and innovation. The company remains committed to setting benchmarks in food safety, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving sustainable growth in Guinea’s agri-food sector.
