Kason introduces innovative update to its screeners

The new system is designed for simplicity, removing the need for additional weights or complicated adjustments, thus setting a new standard for operational convenience and effectiveness.

USA – Kason Corporation, now part of the newly formed brand Akona Process Solutions and a leader in screening, sifting, and processing equipment, has introduced an innovative design in circular screening technology: Precision-Flo.

This new system greatly simplifies the process of adjusting the eccentric weights of the firm’s VIBROSCREEN® circular screeners. The eccentric weights are critical in influencing  the screeners’ vibratory motion.

Traditionally, adjusting the eccentric weights in the industry has been a slow and complex process, often requiring tools and partial disassembly.

The Precision-Flo system eliminates these complications by providing a tool-free adjustment mechanism that is both quick and efficient.

This advancement is particularly beneficial for operators during the initial setup of the screener or for making regular modifications to the amplitude settings for various applications.

In operation, the top eccentric weight of a circular screener is crucial for controlling the radial movement of material on the screen surface.

A heavier top weight results in greater horizontal amplitude, while the bottom eccentric weight governs the vertical motion of the screen, helping to dislodge particles that clog the screen aperture.

With Precision-Flo, operators will enjoy several benefits:

  • Tool-less Adjustment: This groundbreaking feature allows for quick and effortless adjustments. Operators can access all 720 weight combinations by simply pulling a single pin, eliminating the need for disassembly and reassembly.
  • Time Efficiency: Precision-Flo reduces the time required to achieve the ideal lead angle to just minutes, compared to the lengthy adjustments needed with similar machines on the market.
  • No Additional Weights Required: The system simplifies adjustments without the need to add or remove weights, making the process much easier.
  • Airlift Compatibility: This feature ensures that adjustments and maintenance can be effectively managed by a single person, enhancing operational efficiency.

Since February 2024, all new screeners, up to and including 72 inches, have been equipped with the advanced Precision-Flo design.

This upgrade is also available for existing VIBROSCREEN screeners of the same size, with a quick retrofit process that takes just one hour, ensuring that all customers—both current and future—benefit from the latest screening technology.

“Precision-Flo reflects Kason’s ongoing commitment to innovation and enhancing operational efficiency. The design not only saves time but also significantly enhances the functionality and user-friendliness of VIBROSCREEN screeners, demonstrating Kason’s dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its customers,” said Tom Finnegan, Akona’s EMEA Director of Sales.
