Indovinya expands its emulsifier portfolio

Emulsions combine two or more immiscible substances with the help of external agents known as emulsifiers, achieving a stable kinetic state. They have extensive applications in the food and beverage, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.

USA – Indovinya, the specialty chemicals division of Indorama Ventures, has launched a new line of Sorbitan esters.

The company’s Alkest Sp 80 K and Alkest Sp 60 K product lines are designed for use in bakery, as well as other food and beverage applications The Alkest Sp 60 K product is also available in a non-GMO variety.

These ingredients enhance application stability, extend shelf life, and improve both taste and appearance.

“We see significant growth potential in the food market as we expand our Sorbitan Esters offerings. These ingredients not only improve the texture and stability of food products but also complement our existing portfolio of food-grade polysorbates,” said Fabiana Marra, the marketing and R&D nutrition and health director at Indovinya.

Indorama Ventures, based in Wattana, Bangkok, is a producer of petrochemicals with 117 manufacturing operations across 31 countries. The company’s portfolio includes Combined PET and Packaging, Indovinya, Indovida, and Fibers.

According to a recent report by Precedence Research, the global emulsifiers market was estimated to be worth US$8.92 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow from US$9.51 billion in 2025 to approximately US$17.28 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.84% from 2025 to 2034.

North America led the global market, accounting for the largest share of 46% in 2024. The U.S. emulsifiers market was estimated at US$2.89 billion in 2024 and is projected to exceed US$5.86 billion by 2034, growing at a CAGR of 7.32% from 2025 to 2034.

Rapid urbanization, advancements in modern farming methods, increasing demand for eco-friendly products, and government support for crop production are expected to drive growth in the regional market throughout the forecast period.

The Asia-Pacific region is projected to be the fastest-growing market for emulsifiers in the coming years.

By application, the baking segment is expected to experience remarkable growth between 2025 and 2034.

The demand for innovative baked goods, particularly gluten-free options with extended shelf life, is one of the major trends driving the bakery sector. Additionally, rising consumer expectations for nutritious and fiber-rich biscuits are emerging trends in the food emulsifier market.
