Imas completes 720 tpd flour mill project in Central Africa

The new greenfield mill is designed to process approximately 238,000 tonnes of wheat annually, making it a significant addition to Central Africa‘s flour-processing infrastructure.

CAMEROON – Imas, a global leader in grain and feed milling technologies, has officially commissioned a mega greenfield flour mill with a processing capacity of 720 metric tons per day (TPD) in Central Africa.

The turnkey installation marks the third complete milling project the Turkish equipment manufacturer has delivered to the same client in the region, bringing the customer’s total installed milling capacity supplied by Imas to 1,180 TPD.

The expansion follows previous successful phases completed for the client, which began with an initial 300 TPD facility commissioned in 2021, followed by a 160 TPD installation in 2024.

The newly operational facility represents a major expansion in Central Africa’s regional grain processing infrastructure, adding 238,000 tons of annual wheat grinding capacity to supply local commercial bakeries, food processors, and retail chains.

Engineered as a single integrated processing unit, the milling section features 36 state-of-the-art roller mills, 6 eight-section plansifters, and 8 single-deck purifiers.

Executed entirely on a turnkey basis, İmaş handled end-to-end engineering, machinery manufacturing, electrical engineering, mechanical installation, and commissioning.

The Turkish manufacturer’s specialized industrial steel division also designed, fabricated, and erected the mill building’s structural framework.

Advanced automation is central to the new milling complex. Managed through a centralized, fully integrated process control architecture, the system coordinates every operational stage from raw grain intake and cleaning to conditioning, milling, and final flour packaging.

The control system provides real-time monitoring of key performance metrics, tracking exact production outputs, extraction yields, energy consumption, and equipment utilization.

Additionally, the architecture allows İmaş technical support teams in Türkiye to connect remotely for real-time diagnostics, preventive maintenance check-ups, and operational assistance.

The rapid scaling of domestic flour production across Central Africa reflects surging consumer demand for wheat-based products driven by population growth and urbanization.

The project strengthens Imas’presence in Central Africa and demonstrates the growing demand for integrated milling solutions in emerging markets.

By expanding local primary processing capacity, the new facility helps strengthen domestic supply chains, reduces dependence on imported finished flour, and reinforces Central Africa’s agro-industrial base.

Imas was listed among Türkiye’s five leading food machinery exporters in 2026, following its sectoral ranking in the previous year’s “Türkiye’s Top 1,000 Exporters” survey.

The company has also featured among Türkiye’s research and development leaders since 2015, particularly in the grain and feed milling machinery segment. Imas has been publicly listed on Borsa Istanbul since April 2022.
