Imas completes 10-tph feed mill construction in Zimbabwe
The newly commissioned plant has a processing capacity of 10 tonnes per hour (tph) and is engineered to produce compound feed rations for poultry, ruminants, and other livestock sectors.
ZIMBABWE – Imas has officially completed a state-of-the-art, turnkey feed mill facility in Zimbabwe, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of high-capacity agricultural manufacturing infrastructure across Southern Africa.
Imas served as the end-to-end solution partner for the 10-tonnes-per-hour facility, and also designed, manufactured and constructed the mill’s steel building.
The plant is managed through a central automation system that allows integrated monitoring of the entire process, from intake through to packaging, providing real-time data on production quantities, yields and consumption to ensure efficiency and enhanced operational transparency.
Imas after-sales teams are able to connect to the plant remotely at any time to provide technical support, troubleshooting and check-ups.
Agri-Milling, which operates under Davipel Holdings, is described as a growing agricultural processing brand in Zimbabwe.
Agri-Milling’s maize milling product portfolio includes maize meal, instant porridges, and corn snacks, among others while the brand’s stockfeed division produces feed for a wide range of animal species, including road runners, broilers, layers, pigs, rabbits, beef and dairy cattle.
Imas representatives attended the facility’s opening ceremony, alongside Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who praised the company’s expanding market share, job creation and integrated value chain model.
The Zimbabwe project adds to a growing list of African installations for the company, which has previously delivered milling projects in markets including Cameroon and Nigeria.
Imas was recently recognized among the “Top 5 Food Machinery Exporters of Türkiye,” reinforcing its position as one of the leading names in grain and feed milling technology. The company has also been listed among Türkiye’s “R&D Leaders” since 2015.
Beyond the Zimbabwe deal, Imas operates through several specialized brands: Milleral for grain milling, Viteral for feed plants, and Steral for prefabricated steel construction, allowing it to offer fully integrated turnkey solutions covering machinery, structural buildings and automation systems in a single contract.
The Agri-Milling facility underscores the company’s continued push into sub-Saharan African feed and grain markets, where demand for automated, mid-capacity milling infrastructure has been rising alongside growth in commercial livestock and poultry production.
