Genius Foods launches ‘Naturally Genius’ gluten-free bread in collaboration with Megan McKenna

Priced between £3.25 (US$4.39) and £3.75 (US$5.06), the loaves are rolling out across major UK retailers, including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose, and Ocado, starting September 2025.

UK – Genius Foods, the UK’s leading gluten-free bakery brand, has unveiled its boldest innovation yet: the ‘Naturally Genius’ range, co-created with TV personality, singer, and cookbook author Megan McKenna.

This innovative six-strong lineup of artisan and sliced loaves marks a transformative moment for gluten-free consumers, offering products that are not only free from gluten but also free from artificial preservatives, flavourings, and emulsifiers.

The new range includes the Artisan Tiger Bloomer, Ancient Grains & Seeds Bloomer, and sliced loaves in Five Seeds, White, Brown, and Toastie varieties.

McKenna, who has lived with coeliac disease and allergies since childhood, played a hands-on role in crafting the recipes.

“I know the disappointment of buying bread that’s dry, bland, or packed with artificial ingredients,” said McKenna.

“Working with Genius has given me the chance to craft something genuinely different, delicious, and truly better for the community”.

The launch follows a £1 million (US$1.4M) investment in Genius’ Bathgate bakery, which included the installation of a state-of-the-art Vemag dough depositor and advanced metal detection technology to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

CEO Stephen Hann called the range “a new era for gluten-free bakery,” emphasizing the brand’s commitment to listening to the coeliac community and eliminating compromise from gluten-free options.

In a gesture of goodwill, Genius Foods will donate 5p from every pack sold of the two artisan bloomers to Coeliac UK over the next year.

Hilary Croft, CEO of Coeliac UK, praised the initiative, noting Genius’ long-standing support and use of the Crossed Grain Trademark.

With Naturally Genius, Genius Foods is not just launching a new product; it’s reshaping expectations in the gluten-free category.

 By combining clean-label ingredients, artisanal baking techniques, and community-driven values, the brand is setting a new standard for taste, transparency, and trust.
