The new snack is launching exclusively at Walmart.

USA – Frito-Lay’s Doritos brand is debuting Flamin’ Hot Korean-Style BBQ, exclusively available at Walmart locations nationwide starting March 31.
These chips are crafted with a fusion of sweet soy, savory grilled beef, and a hint of Flamin’ Hot spice. They will be offered in two sizes: a 9-oz bag for US$6.29 and a 2.625-oz bag for US$2.69.
Gen Z consumers are increasingly seeking out globally inspired flavors, with Korean cuisine ranking as their second most preferred global food category.
Walmart has recently experienced a surge in sales of Asian-inspired snacks, creating an opportunity for Doritos to tap into this trend and cater to snack enthusiasts.
This isn’t the first time Doritos has catered to its audience with innovative flavors. The brand recently launched Doritos Golden Sriracha, inspired by green and yellow Sriracha sauces.
According to Doritos, the Golden Sriracha chip delivers a tangy and sweet flavor profile, featuring a blend of yellow and green Sriracha rather than relying solely on the heavy spice of red Sriracha. This launch aims to highlight two lesser-known flavors.
Tina Mahal, Senior Vice President of Marketing at PepsiCo Foods North America, stated that the Golden Sriracha opens the door to a completely new flavor, effectively putting a bold twist on Gen Z’s favorite hot sauce.
Doritos is an American brand of flavored tortilla chips produced by Frito-Lay, a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo. The concept for Doritos originated in Disneyland at a restaurant managed by Frito-Lay.
In 1966, Doritos became the first nationally available tortilla chip in the United States, initially offering a toasted corn flavor, followed by taco in 1967, and the now-popular nacho cheese flavor in 1972.
Today, Doritos products are available worldwide in a wide variety of flavors that vary by region, such as Spicy Nacho, Dinamita Chile Limón, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Salsa Verde, Tapatío, Nacho Cheese, Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch, Flamin’ Hot Nacho, Cool Ranch, and Spicy Sweet Chili.
Doritos has also gained recognition for its marketing campaigns, including advertisements aired during the Super Bowl.
