NIGERIA – CWAY Group, a Nigerian foods and beverages company, has expanded its presence in the country by substantially investing in the multimillion-dollar snacks market.
After extensive market research, the group officially launched its innovative three-layer snack in Abuja at a grand event held at the Sandralia Hotel in Jabi.
This investment in the snacks subsector is expected to expand consumer choices and provide jobs for Nigerians.
According to market projections, the Nigerian snack food industry was valued at US$883 million in 2021 and is projected to reach US $1.5 billion by 2024, reflecting an estimated annual growth rate of 20 percent.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Will Li, General Manager of WELLCOME NIG LTD, expressed excitement about Wellcome Snacks, explaining that it is part of CWAY’s unrelenting commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and exceeding expectations.
He reiterated that Wellcome Snacks is a first-of-its-kind three-layered chip, crafted using advanced Japanese technology.
“The Wellcome snack’s tagline of ‘SINGLE CRUNCH, TRIPLE DELIGHT’ is a promise of the unique taste and deliciousness that this brand promises,” he said.
Currently available in two flavors – Spicy Chicken and Chocolate, Wellcome Snacks aims to captivate snack enthusiasts across Nigeria.
The Assistant General Manager of Marketing, Mr. Samuel Akinrimisi, revealed that the brand targets Nigerians of all ages, particularly young adults aged 16-25, as its primary market, while also appealing to all chip snack consumers.
He noted that the product is available in three sizes: 15g, 30g, and 60g, catering to various consumer preferences and occasions.
During a comprehensive briefing session, the Brand and Marketing Manager, Mr. Falase Emmanuel, delivered a detailed presentation on the origins and development of Wellcome Snacks.
The launch event brought together business partners, distributors, media representatives, influencers, and public members, who were treated to a comprehensive introduction to the Wellcome Snacks brand and its variants.
