Anton Paar opens a new lab in the US, showcasing Brabender instruments

USAAnton Paar has inaugurated a new laboratory within its Americas Technical Center, dedicated to showcasing and utilizing Brabender instruments.

This cutting-edge, 1,800-square-foot facility will serve as a hub for application development and training, offering customers across North and South America the opportunity to explore Brabender’s world-class measuring devices.

The laboratory marks a significant milestone following Anton Paar’s acquisition of Brabender in 2023.

Positioned as a resource for Anton Paar’s seven subsidiaries in the Americas, the lab provides an interactive space where customers can gain firsthand experience using Brabender instruments to test and develop their samples and materials.

Reinhard Eberl, Executive Director of Anton Paar Americas, highlighted the strategic importance of the new facility.

The Brabender portfolio is full of world-class instruments, and now we have a world-class laboratory where they can be utilized,” Eberl stated.

Anton Paar continues to grow and establish new sales and service subsidiaries across the Americas. Investing in premier infrastructure like this ensures that the Anton Paar customer experience keeps pace with our expansion.”

Christoph Pielen, former president of C.W. Brabender Instruments, Inc., now lead scientist for texture and extrusion at Anton Paar USA, echoed this sentiment.

“In the relatively short time since the acquisition, Brabender and its customers are already enjoying the benefits of being part of Anton Paar,” Pielen noted.

“This laboratory is the perfect venue for customers to experience our instruments and explore their capabilities before making purchasing decisions. It’s also a fantastic resource for our employees, offering a space for advanced training and application development,” he added.

According to the company, the laboratory will showcase some of Brabender’s flagship instruments, including the MetaStation torque rheometer, Farinograph flour and dough analyzer, and TwinLab-C extruder. These devices are integral to industries such as food science, materials development, and more.

Anton Paar has also prioritized safety and sustainability in the lab’s design, implementing state-of-the-art ventilation systems and solar power to minimize its environmental footprint.

Beyond its role as a demonstration space, the lab will also serve as a training ground for Anton Paar employees, enabling them to refine their expertise and enhance customer support. Pielen expressed optimism about the opportunities the lab creates:

Customers now have access to a top-quality lab to work with Brabender instruments, while employees gain a premier space for training and sample testing. The possibilities here feel endless.”
