The new Madrid office complements Olam Agri‘s existing Barcelona operation, its first base in the country and the starting point of its Spanish business.

SPAIN – Olam Agri has opened a second office in Spain, establishing a new base in Madrid to strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers and expand its agricultural commodity import and domestic distribution capabilities.
The new office places the agribusiness company closer to customers and suppliers across Spain’s interior, supporting its efforts to improve service delivery and reinforce its presence in the Spanish agricultural commodities market.
The move reflects Spain’s strategic importance to Olam Agri’s European trading and distribution activities.
Olam Agri supplies a range of agricultural commodities to the Spanish market, including maize, wheat, barley and soybeans.
Through its global sourcing network and integrated supply chain, the company combines international procurement capabilities with local market knowledge to serve customers and maintain dependable supplies of essential agricultural raw materials.
The Madrid office builds on the company’s existing presence in Barcelona, its first office in Spain, which marked the start of its operations in the country.
With the addition of Madrid, Olam Agri intends to work alongside its established Spanish team to expand its ability to manage imports and distribute commodities within the domestic market.
The expansion is expected to bring the company closer to businesses across Spain’s interior, improve communication, and enable more responsive engagement with market participants.
Access to established sourcing networks and distribution capabilities is particularly relevant to grain traders, processors, and other agricultural businesses that depend on consistent raw-material supplies.
Olam Agri’s presence in Spain also supports its broader approach of combining international commodity sourcing with local customer relationships.
By maintaining a presence in key markets, the company can strengthen its understanding of regional demand, supplier requirements and changing market conditions.
The opening represents a long-term commitment to Spain and its agricultural trading partners. The company said the Madrid office would complement its existing operations rather than replace its Barcelona base, allowing both teams to contribute to its commercial activities in the country.
The expansion comes as Olam Agri presents itself as a global food, feed and fibre agribusiness with capabilities spanning sourcing, processing, trading, logistics and distribution.
The Madrid opening marks another step in the company’s development in Spain, with an emphasis on dependable commodity supply, domestic distribution and closer cooperation with local market participants.
