The agreement gives MANE exclusive global rights to produce and sell ViaLeaf Reb M for the food and beverage industry.

FRANCE/USA – MANE has expanded its partnership with Arzeda after securing an exclusive global license to produce and sell ViaLeaf Reb M, a sweetening ingredient designed to help food and beverage companies reduce sugar while keeping the taste consumers expect.
The agreement allows MANE to oversee the full Reb M process, from production to commercial sales. It follows the partnership the two companies announced in March 2026 and supports their plan to make natural sugar reduction ingredients available to more manufacturers worldwide.
“This new step in our partnership with Arzeda reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, high performance solutions to our customers,” said Samantha Mane, CEO of the MANE Group. “By combining Arzeda’s breakthrough technology with MANE’s production, flavour creation, application and commercial expertise, we can now offer the market a fully integrated Reb M solution that delivers outstanding taste performance and competitive economics.”
ViaLeaf Reb M uses Arzeda’s protein design technology, which builds on Nobel Prize winning scientific research. MANE will combine this technology with its manufacturing, formulation and commercial capabilities to supply Reb M on a larger scale.
Reb M is one of the most sought after steviol glycosides because it provides a clean sweetness that closely matches sugar without adding unwanted aftertaste. According to the companies, Arzeda’s technology has lowered production costs, while MANE’s manufacturing network will help increase supply to meet rising demand for natural sugar reduction ingredients.
“MANE is uniquely positioned to bring ViaLeaf Reb M, the first product created through AI driven protein design to reach the market, to customers around the world,” said Alexandre Zanghellini, PhD, CEO of Arzeda. “By entrusting MANE with production and commercialisation, we are combining Arzeda’s innovation capabilities with MANE’s global scale and industry leadership to speed up the use of next generation sweetening solutions worldwide.”
The companies said the expanded partnership will help food and beverage manufacturers respond to growing demand for products with less sugar while keeping flavour and supporting clean label product development.
The announcement comes as food and beverage manufacturers continue to increase investment in sugar reduction technologies to meet changing consumer preferences. Companies across the sector are looking for ingredients that reduce sugar without affecting taste, product quality or manufacturing efficiency.
MANE said the latest agreement strengthens its position in this market by adding production and commercial responsibility for ViaLeaf Reb M to its existing flavour and ingredient business.
