Wholebake expands with new facility to boost healthy snack bar production

The new site features dedicated production lines and improved infrastructure to accommodate larger volumes and a more diverse product offering.

UK – Wholebake, a leading UK manufacturer of healthy snack bars, has announced a significant expansion of its operations with the opening of a third production site in Wrexham, Wales.

This strategic move, backed by private equity firm Elysian Capital since 2021, marks a transformational milestone in the company’s growth journey and positions it as one of the most capable and flexible bar manufacturers in the UK.

The new facility is a purpose-built, food-grade factory converted from an existing warehouse.

It complements Wholebake’s existing operations in Corwen and Wrexham, bringing the total number of sites to three.

With the Corwen site already operating at full capacity, the multi-million-pound investment in the new Wrexham location is designed to enhance production capabilities, streamline logistics, and support long-term growth for the company and its partners.

Wholebake’s expansion is a response to increasing demand from leading brands and retailers in the healthy snacking sector.

The new site features dedicated production lines and improved infrastructure to accommodate larger volumes and a more diverse product offering.

This move not only boosts Wholebake’s manufacturing capacity but also strengthens its ability to innovate and respond quickly to market trends.

Wholebake has shown remarkable growth, having tripled its revenues since 2014 through strategic expansions and partnerships with leading brands and retailers in the healthy snacking sector.

The firm’s growth strategy includes being a premier contract manufacturer for both branded and own-label snack bars, catering to market segments including weight management, sports nutrition, toddler snacking, vegan-friendly products, and healthy indulgence.

This investment also supports Wholebake’s commitment to the local community by creating job opportunities, training programs, and multi-skilling initiatives as new high-speed production lines are introduced.

The company plans to maintain continuity by retaining existing equipment and product ranges while using the new capacity for future investments and product development.

The new Wrexham site strengthens Wholebake’s role as a major local employer and underlines its position as a key player in the fast-growing healthy snack sector.

Wholebake’s expansion highlights its strategic vision to leverage investment and innovation to serve the growing consumer demand for healthier snack options, while supporting sustainable growth and maintaining strong community ties.
