Seaboard Foods appoints Chad Groves as president and CEO

USA – Seaboard Corporation has announced the appointment of Chad Groves as the next president and chief executive officer of its Seaboard Foods LLC (Seaboard Foods) pork segment. 

Groves is set to succeed Peter Brown, who will retire on June 30, 2024, after serving in the role since January 2021.

With over three decades of executive leadership experience in the protein industry, including prominent roles at Butterball and High Liner Foods, Peter Brown has been instrumental in guiding Seaboard Foods through significant growth and development during his tenure. 

Seaboard Corporation expressed gratitude for Brown’s contributions to the organization over the past three years, acknowledging his role as a key leader within the executive management team.

Bob Steer, president and CEO of Seaboard Corporation, extended well wishes to Peter Brown for his impending retirement, highlighting his pivotal role in the company’s success.

“Peter was a key leader on Seaboard’s executive management team, and we wish him all the best in his upcoming retirement,” said Bob Steer.

Chad Groves, the incoming president and CEO, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Since July 2021, Groves has served as the senior vice president of global sales, marketing, and innovation at Seaboard Foods. 

In this capacity, he has overseen various aspects of the company’s operations, including retail, food service, export, processor sales, marketing, sustainability, and innovation.

Before joining Seaboard Foods, Groves held senior leadership positions at Trilliant Food & Nutrition LLC and High Liner Foods, where he demonstrated his expertise in sales and food service. 

Groves holds a bachelor’s degree in selling and sales management from Purdue University and a master’s degree in business management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Groves is actively involved in the industry and serves as a member of the board of directors and treasurer for the National Pork Board.

The appointment of Chad Groves reflects Seaboard Corporation’s commitment to fostering leadership talent within its ranks and ensuring a smooth transition as the company continues to pursue its strategic objectives in the pork segment. 

Groves’ extensive experience and leadership qualities position him well to lead Seaboard Foods into its next phase of growth and innovation.
