QuantiPath appoints Tyler Stephens to strengthen food safety expertise

USA – QuantiPath, a biotechnology company advancing rapid pathogen detection and food safety diagnostics, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Tyler Stephens to its expanding team of food safety experts.
The strategic move is designed to accelerate the commercialization and technical deployment of the company’s proprietary rapid pathogen detection platform, particularly its flagship GenoPATHx testing technology.
Dr. Stephens joins QuantiPath with more than 20 years of specialized experience spanning food microbiology, molecular diagnostics, applied food safety research, and regulatory affairs.
His career includes prominent scientific and commercial leadership roles at notable industry institutions, including Hygiena, Roka Bioscience, SK8 Biotechnologies, Micro Enviro Tech, and Texas Tech University.
He has also contributed significantly to public sector food safety initiatives through his work with Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development’s Food Processing Development Centre.
Throughout his career, Dr. Stephens has bridged the gap between pure laboratory science and real-world commercial food production.
His expertise includes validating complex diagnostic platforms across diverse food matrices, designing technical training programs, and leading field application teams to implement molecular detection systems directly into processing facilities.
This extensive background in customer-facing support and diagnostic validation is expected to drive QuantiPath’s expansion across the poultry, livestock, and broader food production laboratory markets.
John LoPorto, Chief Executive Officer of QuantiPath, highlighted the value of the appointment, noting that Dr. Stephens brings a critical mix of scientific acumen and applied commercial experience.
