Ottevanger completes testing of advanced feed mill dosing unit, prepares shipment to Algeria

The 8-cell modular system is designed for ultra-precise ingredient dosing in feed production

ALGERIA – Ottevanger Milling Engineers, a Dutch company specializing in the design and manufacture of equipment and complete installations for the grain-processing and compound feed industry, has announced the successful completion of full mechanical and electrical testing of its first next-generation Micro Dosing Unit (MDU).

The 8-cell modular system is designed for ultra-precise ingredient dosing in feed production.

The unit, now ready for shipment to a customer in Algeria, boasts industry-leading accuracy ±10 to 25 grams on a 5 kg batch and ±1 to 10 grams on 1 kg batches, ensuring optimal cost control and nutritional consistency in compound feed, pet food, aquafeed, and premix applications .

Founded in 1909 as part of the Triott Group, the company is known for planning, designing, manufacturing and managing the construction of complete (turn-key) production facilities or individual lines for processes.

The MDU is engineered for high-performance dosing with up to four dosing screws operating simultaneously, significantly reducing cycle times.

According to the company, its modular design supports up to eight dosing screws, six agitators, and a combination of small and large weighers, allowing for flexible configurations tailored to specific production needs.

The system’s control range of 1:1000 across all weighers facilitates both micro and macro dosing with exceptional precision.

Constructed with a robust and hygienic steel base frame, the MDU integrates bin hoppers, dosing equipment, and scales into a compact footprint. It can accommodate a silo block of up to 8 m³, with provisions for external support for larger volumes, simplifying maintenance and service accessibility

Ottevanger’s commitment to innovation is evident in the MDU’s ability to handle a wide range of ingredients, from vitamins and minerals to enzymes and other sensitive components.

According to the company, the system’s high dosing and weighing accuracy minimizes product losses and deviations in nutritional balance, which are critical factors in feed quality and cost efficiency.
