CAMEROON- Olam Agri marked a significant milestone with the celebration of 30 years of presence in Cameroon and 10 years of its Grains business in the country, reaffirming its long-standing contribution to national food security, employment, and economic development.
The commemorative event, attended by key government officials, customers, partners, and employees, highlighted Olam Agri’s deep integration into Cameroon’s food systems and its continued commitment to the region.
The celebration was headlined by a distinguished delegation of senior leaders from Olam Agri, including Neelamani Muthukumar (COO), Devashish Chaubey, Partheeban Theodore, Balaji C, Raghav Mandhana, and Jaideep Biswas. Their presence underscored the strategic importance of Cameroon in the company’s African operations.
Cameroon’s Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, was among the dignitaries present. In his address, he praised Olam Agri for being a vital player in ensuring food security and introducing iconic brands such as Riz Meme, Riz Bijou, Bijou Mammy, and Standard.
“These brands are no longer just products; they are part of Cameroon’s household heritage,” the Minister said.
He commended Olam Agri’s consistent investments in the economy and reiterated the government’s unwavering support for the company’s future endeavours.
One of the emotional highlights of the event was the recognition of 13 long-serving employees, whose loyalty and dedication were acknowledged for playing a crucial role in Olam Agri’s sustained success in Cameroon.
In his keynote speech, Neelamani Muthukumar, Chief Operating Officer, expressed gratitude to the local team, led by Country Head Veeresh Mallikarjun Hiremath, for their steadfast dedication. He shared Olam Agri’s vision for the future, which includes expanding into Fish Feed, Poultry Feed, Animal Feed, and Edible Oil distribution.
“We remain committed to transforming food, feed, and fibre for a more sustainable future in Cameroon,” Muthukumar said.
Since launching its grains business in Cameroon a decade ago, Olam Agri has grown into a major contributor to the country’s agri-food value chain. Its brands are trusted by millions of Cameroonians, and its operational footprint has created numerous job opportunities, especially for youth in both rural and urban areas.
The event not only celebrated past achievements but also looked ahead to a future of innovation and continued collaboration with stakeholders.
