Mondelēz International appoints Amit Banati as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

He will report directly to Dirk Van de Put, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Mondelēz, and join the company’s executive leadership team.

USAMondelēz International has announced the appointment of Amit Banati as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective July 1, 2026.

He will report directly to Dirk Van de Put, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, and will be a member of the Mondelēz International Leadership Team.

Banati succeeds Luca Zaramella, who is stepping down after an impressive eight-year tenure as the chocolate and biscuit maker’s finance chief.

Zaramella will now transition fully into his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), a position he was initially appointed to earlier this year.

As COO, Zaramella will focus entirely on Mondelēz’s global commercial operations, overseeing corporate sales, marketing, supply chain functions, and the company’s four primary geographic regions.

Banati brings to the role a distinguished track record across some of the world’s foremost consumer goods companies.

Most recently, Banati was CFO of Kenvue Inc., which he joined in May 2025 after 20 months as Vice Chair and CFO of Kellanova, which completed its separation from The Kellogg Co. in October 2023.

Prior to that, Banati spent more than 13 years at Kellogg, including over seven years as President of the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region, and then nearly six years as Senior Vice President and CFO.

The CFO appointment will mark Banati’s second stint at Mondelēz.

He spent almost six years at Cadbury Schweppes, most recently as President for the Pacific region, until its acquisition by the predecessor company to Mondelēz, Kraft Foods, in early 2010, after which he was President of North Asia and Asia-Pacific strategy.

Van de Put expressed confidence in the incoming finance chief. “Amit is a highly experienced CFO who brings a strong blend of financial leadership and commercial acumen spanning multiple consumer businesses. I look forward to working with him to deliver against our strategic growth agenda,” he said.

The CEO also paid tribute to the outgoing CFO, thanking Zaramella for his outstanding contributions over eight years as CFO, during which he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy.

Banati expressed enthusiasm about the return. “I am delighted to rejoin Mondelēz International. I am excited to return to a company and set of brands that I know well. The company has an iconic portfolio, an advantaged global footprint and a talented team,” he said.

Mondelēz International, with 2025 net revenues of approximately $38.5 billion, leads a portfolio of iconic global brands including Oreo, Ritz, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka, and Toblerone.
