Marico Limited enters cold pressed oils market with Saffola launch

Cold pressed oils are becoming increasingly popular due to their low-temperature extraction method.

INDIA – Marico Limited, a leading fast-moving consumer goods company in the areas of health, beauty and wellness in India, has entered the Cold Pressed Oils market with the launch of the new Saffola Cold Pressed Oils range.

Saffola, a trusted brand in wellness and heart-healthy products, unveils its Dual Seed Cold-Pressed Oils. This distinctive blend combines the nutritional value of carefully selected seed varieties, carefully crafted to enhance everyday cooking.

This launch marks a strategic growth move for the Saffola Oils portfolio, underscoring the brand’s commitment to guiding Indian families toward healthier, more informed cooking choices.

With a legacy spanning over fifty years of promoting heart wellness, Saffola’s move into the expanding Cold-Pressed Oils segment builds seamlessly on its longstanding health-focused legacy.

Cold-pressed oils are becoming increasingly popular due to their low-temperature extraction method, which preserves the seed’s natural flavor, aroma, and nutrients, making them a nourishing choice for daily cooking.

Drawing on its expertise in multi-source edible oils, Saffola has introduced both single- and dual-pressed seed options, establishing a unique presence in this rapidly growing segment.

Saffola’s newly launched Cold Pressed Oils range blends innovation with authenticity, offering two distinct formats tailored for health-conscious consumers. The Dual Seed variants, including Groundnut & Sesame and Groundnut & Safflower, are crafted to provide a balanced fatty acid profile while retaining a rich, natural flavor.

Meanwhile, the Single Seed variants, which include 100% Groundnut, Sesame, and Mustard oils, focus on delivering the full nutritional benefits and pure taste of each seed.

This cold-pressed range retains its original taste and features a well-rounded blend of monounsaturated (MUFA) and polyunsaturated (PUFA) fatty acids. It’s designed for daily cooking that complements long-term health goals and delivers key nutrients that aid in cholesterol control.

“With the Cold Pressed Oils category gaining momentum in India, we saw an opportunity to introduce a more thoughtful and differentiated offering. At Saffola, we understand the evolving food habits and nutritional priorities of Indian households,” said Ashish Goupal, Chief Executive Officer of India Core Business, Marico Limited.

“This launch of Cold Pressed Oils allows us not just to participate in the category but to shape it actively. Backed by Saffola’s strong heart-health equity, we are well-positioned to deliver what today’s consumers seek: authenticity, functional benefits, and quality they can trust. This is more than just a portfolio expansion; it’s a step towards building a future where preventive health begins with everyday choices in the kitchen.”

The range is launching nationwide in India, with prices starting at ₹356 (approximately US$4.13) for 1L Mustard, ₹506 (approximately US$5.80) for Groundnut, and ₹719 (approximately US$8.34) for Sesame. Initially available through quick commerce platforms, it offers easy access for consumers seeking nutritious, health-focused cooking oils delivered straight to their homes.
