The newly launched facility features 16 state-of-the-art laboratories designed for collaborative product development.

UK – JPL Flavours, the UK’s only flavourist-owned flavour house, has officially opened its new £11 million (US$14.9M) headquarters in Bromborough, Wirral, marking a significant milestone in the UK flavour house’s growth and innovation journey.
The move marks a pivotal moment for the company, which has grown steadily over nine years to become a leader in bespoke flavour creation across sweet, savoury, and beverage categories.
The newly launched 75,000-square-foot facility doubles the company’s previous footprint and features 16 state-of-the-art laboratories designed for collaborative product development.
Clients can now co-create flavour profiles alongside JPL’s expert team, leveraging cutting-edge tools and rapid prototyping systems to accelerate innovation and reduce lead times.
Founder and Managing Director Jake Lavelle described the new site as a hub for creativity and digital transformation.
“We’re on a mission to raise the bar for digital innovation in the flavour industry. We’ve built the new headquarters with efficiency, sustainability, and innovation in mind,” said Lavelle.
“The new premises will provide a great home for the team and be a place where our ideas can come to life”.
The facility integrates advanced AI support systems to streamline production and enhance customer service, positioning JPL Flavours among the most technologically advanced flavour houses in the UK.
The investment also reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability, with energy-efficient infrastructure and eco-conscious design principles embedded throughout the site.
The expansion comes amid a year of strategic growth for JPL, including the recruitment of industry veteran Nick Dyson as Chief Flavourist.
Dyson’s appointment is expected to further elevate the company’s R&D capabilities and reinforce its reputation for delivering high-quality, tailored flavour solutions.
JPL Flavours’ relocation from nearby Neston to Bromborough was funded through a combination of property acquisition and facility upgrades.
The company purchased the new site on Bassendale Road for £3.5 million (approximately US$4.736 million), followed by a £2.5 million (approximately US$3.383 million) fit out to create its advanced lab network.
With the unveiling of its new headquarters, JPL Flavours is positioned to expand its customer base, diversify its portfolio, and continue pushing the boundaries of flavour innovation.
The company’s investment underscores a broader trend in the UK food ingredients sector, where digital transformation and customer-centric design are reshaping the future of product development.
