The scholarships were given to the 10 best students of the Junior Secondary School class in 10 schools.

NIGERIA – Dufil Prima Foods, maker of Indomie Instant Noodles, has awarded scholarships to 100 indigent students in Nigeria in line with its Back-to-School Scholarship Programme, a CSR initiative that reaffirms the company’s commitment to promoting education and youth empowerment.
Each participating school received N500,000 (US$324) to support their students. The recipients were selected based on their academic performance and financial need. The scholarships will cover school fees, learning materials, and other educational expenses.
During the official ceremony held at Junior Secondary School, Sabo Tasha, Abraham Elukpo, regional manager for Indomie Noodles (North), stated that the brand is committed to uplifting communities and supporting education.
He mentioned that this initiative aims to assist students and their families by ensuring that financial challenges do not hinder access to quality education. Elukpo emphasized that the scholarships are intended to inspire these young minds to strive for excellence.
He further explained that Indomie Noodles’ annual Back-to-School Initiative is designed to alleviate the financial strain on underprivileged students, ensuring they can access quality education regardless of their economic background.
Yahaya Saleh, executive secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarships and Loans Board (KADSSLB), commended Indomie Noodles for its significant contribution to education.
He noted that the scholarship is not only about financial assistance; it represents a life-changing opportunity for many students, opening doors to a brighter future.
Saleh acknowledged that this initiative aligns with the Kaduna State government’s vision for accessible education and praised the brand for its partnership.
Ishaya Ayuba Ranga, the principal of JSS Sabo Tasha, expressed gratitude to Dufil Prima for the scholarship, describing it as a game-changer that brings hope and encouragement to students.
The scholarship recipients shared their appreciation, with many stating that the financial support would allow them to focus on their studies without the stress of school fees.
Favour Onazi, a student from GJSS Sabo Tasha, stated that the scholarship will enable her to concentrate on her education and pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.
The beneficiary schools include GJSS Narayi, GJSS Barnawa, GJSS Ungwan Rimi, GJSS Sabo Tasha (the host school), GJSS Kawo, GJSS Rigasa, GJSS Tundunwada, GJSS Unguwan Mu’azu, and GJSS Gonin Gora.
This is not the first CSR initiative done by the company. In 2023, the company joined forces with the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria to raise awareness about sickle cell disease through a remarkable event tagged: “Red Umbrella Walk,” an annual solidarity and awareness walk aimed at spotlighting sickle cell disease in Nigeria.
The firm also coordinates a free health camp to provide Nigerians with basic medical care and promote healthy consumption among the Nigerian populace by educating people about the detrimental impact of eating food prepared with unbranded oil.
