FMN’s Premier Feed Mills expands poultry feed portfolio with LayerWise launch

LayerWise is tailored to optimize performance, ensuring farmers get the best value for their investment.

NIGERIA – Premier Feed Mills Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (FMN), has proudly announced the successful launch of its innovative poultry feed brand, Topfeeds LayerWise, in Jos and Kano, Nigeria.

Announcing the launch in a LinkedIn update, this milestone reinforces FMN’s commitment to empowering poultry farmers with high-quality, performance-driven feed solutions tailored to meet the needs of the Nigerian agricultural sector.

The launch event brought together industry stakeholders, poultry farmers, distributors, and partners to celebrate the unveiling of Topfeeds LayerWise.

This new feed is designed to address the growing demand for cost-effective, nutritionally balanced poultry feed that enhances egg productivity and promotes bird health.

“Topfeeds LayerWise is a game-changer for poultry farmers, offering a product that ensures optimal performance while maintaining affordability,” said Austin Pam Dalyop, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Premier Feed Mills, during the launch.

According to the company, the new feed brand is formulated to provide a balanced mix of digestible carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, ensuring superior egg production and bird health.

The feed is specifically tailored for layer birds between 17 and 33 weeks of age, supporting growth, development, and high egg output. It will be distributed across two key markets in Jos and Kano through a network of dealers and on-farm partners.

The launch of Topfeeds LayerWise follows a recent move by the FMN, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing food security in Nigeria by promoting local content development through substantial investments in the agriculture and agro-allied sectors.

This pledge, articulated in a recent statement, reinforces the company’s signature “Feeding the Nation Every Day” agenda, a cornerstone of its 65-year strategy aimed at reducing dependency on imported raw materials, fostering sustainable growth, and supporting millions of Nigerian families.

In a recent statement, Group Chief Executive Officer Boye Olusanya highlighted FMN’s role beyond mere business operations.

For over six decades, the Group has been a source of livelihood for millions of Nigerian families by providing both direct and indirect employment. And more than any other business in the country, we have guarded our national heritage with trust, ensuring that our activities are sustainable for the country, the environment, and most importantly, for the people,” Olusanya said.

FMN’s agricultural endeavors trace back to 1978, when it acquired a 10,000-hectare farm in Kaboji, Niger State, to strengthen the sugar supply chain and curb import dependency.
