Edita expands Egypt portfolio with Raw Crinkles distribution deal

Edita is leveraging its scale and logistics expertise to support Prisma Foods’ market ambitions.

EGYPT – Edita Food Industries, a leading player in Egypt’s packaged snack food market, has announced a strategic expansion of its distribution portfolio through a new partnership with Prisma Foods Egypt, marking its first third-party distribution agreement.

Under this deal, Edita’s distribution arm will handle nationwide delivery of Raw Crinkles, a premium kettle-cooked potato chips brand that has gained traction in Egypt’s fast-growing salty snacks segment.

The move signals Edita’s intent to diversify beyond its core baked goods portfolio, which includes household names like Molto, Hostess Cakes, Bake Rolz, and Freska.

With four manufacturing facilities across Egypt and a robust export network spanning the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Edita is leveraging its scale and logistics expertise to support Prisma Foods’ market ambitions.

Raw Crinkles, produced by Prisma Foods, is positioned as a high-quality, innovative snack offering.

As Egypt’s first brand to introduce kettle-cooked potato chips, Raw has carved out a niche in the country’s largest snack category.

The chips are known for their artisanal texture, bold flavors, and premium packaging, attributes that align with evolving consumer preferences for elevated snacking experiences.

Edita Trade & Distribution operates a vast network of 25 branches, reaching nearly 60,000 retailers across Egypt with a fleet of 1,200 trucks.

This infrastructure, backed by advanced warehousing and retail analytics, will enable the efficient and targeted distribution of Raw Crinkles to both urban and rural markets.

Edita’s product portfolio encompasses a diverse range of baked snack categories, including cakes, bakery items, rusks, wafers, and confectionery products. Some of its key brands are TODO, Molto, HoHo’s, Twinkies, and Tiger Tail.

The addition of Raw Crinkles aligns with Edita’s commitment to innovation and offering a diverse range of snack options to consumers.

This move supports Edita’s ongoing strategy of portfolio optimisation and responding to evolving market demands within Egypt and its export markets.

The deal also aligns with Edita’s broader growth strategy, which includes expanding into frozen foods, biscuits, and international markets.

Recent ventures include the launch of Edita Iraq and the acquisition of Fancy Foods Cairo, signaling a multi-category, multi-market approach to growth.

With the incorporation of Raw Crinkles into its distribution lineup, Edita aims to tap into new consumer preferences and reinforce its leadership in the snack food market.

The partnership with Prisma Foods Egypt exemplifies the collaborative trends within the industry, where manufacturers and distributors work together to bring innovative products to market quickly and efficiently.

As Egypt’s snack food landscape continues to evolve, Edita’s distribution of Raw Crinkles positions the company at the forefront of innovation, taste, and consumer reach, reinforcing its reputation as a dynamic force across Egypt and the MENA region.
