Crystal Farms launches new line of David’s Deli Protein Bagels  

USA – Crystal Farms Dairy Co., a Midwest dairy powerhouse under Post Holdings, has launched David’s Deli Protein Bagels, a new refrigerated, presliced bagel product that packs 16 grams of protein per bagel and is being positioned as a higher‑protein alternative to standard bagels for consumers seeking convenient, protein‑forward breakfast and snack options.  

The launch includes three flavors: Plain, Cinnamon, and Everything, and the company says the product contains a blend of wheat protein isolate and soy protein to achieve the elevated protein content while retaining David’s Deli’s beloved soft, chewy texture and signature taste.     

Designed for versatility, the Plain Protein Bagel suits all-day meals, from breakfast sandwiches to creative kitchen experiments.   

The Cinnamon variant delivers spice-laden sweetness for indulgent cravings, while the Everything bagel boasts a savory topping of sesame, poppy seeds, onion, garlic, and salt—transforming comfort food into a nutrient powerhouse.   

President Tim Bratland highlighted their broad appeal: “From parents looking to sneak in a protein boost to fitness and health enthusiasts looking to increase their overall protein intake to those who just love bagels, this line of protein bagels is for everyone.” 

David’s Deli, a Crystal Farms staple for over 20 years, expands its bagels and English muffins with this high-protein innovation amid surging demand for functional baked goods.   

Found in the refrigerated aisle alongside existing products, they target health-focused consumers navigating busy lifestyles.   

The launch taps into the US bagel market’s growth, emphasizing protein fortification, a trend mirroring protein-enriched cereals and snacks, as shoppers prioritize satiety and wellness.   

David’s Deli Protein Bagels are currently available at Midwest grocers like Cub, Piggly Wiggly, Roundy’s, Festival Foods, and will be coming to additional stores this summer.
