USA – For the third consecutive year, Cargill has been named the recipient of two prestigious 2025 BIG Innovation Awards, highlighting the company’s pioneering efforts in the global agriculture industry.
Recognized for both its organizational impact and groundbreaking products, Cargill continues to set benchmarks in sustainable and innovative agricultural solutions.
The BIG Innovation Awards celebrate organizations and individuals who push industry boundaries and deliver measurable results with substantial impact. Winners are selected by a panel of seasoned business leaders and executives based on creativity, tangible outcomes, and transformative influence.
The acknowledgment also highlights Cargill’s efforts in addressing global challenges through innovation, from improving crop yields to promoting sustainable farming practices.
“Humanity relies on innovation to improve our lives and the planet. We’re thrilled to spotlight Cargill as a shining example of innovation making a profound impact globally,” said Russ Fordyce, chief executive officer of BIG.
The Agriculture Organization award acknowledges Cargill’s holistic approach to reimagining the future of food through innovations that enhance gut health, expand protein options, improve food nutrition, and advance crop technologies. These initiatives align with Cargill’s mission to “nourish the world” while prioritizing sustainability across its global supply chain.
In addition, Cargill’s Winter Crop Innovation earned a Product award. In collaboration with the Forever Green Initiative at the University of Minnesota, the project focuses on developing winter camelina and domesticated pennycress as viable crops for the Upper Midwest.
This research addresses soil health improvement, economic benefits for farmers, increased protein-rich animal feed production, and renewable fuel generation, showcasing the multi-dimensional impact of innovative agricultural practices.
“Innovation is the answer to some of the world’s biggest challenges,” stated Florian Schattenmann, Cargill’s chief technology officer and vice president of innovation and R&D.
“At Cargill, we innovate with purpose and commitment, delivering solutions that are better for our health and environment. These awards reflect the creativity, dedication, and vision of our world-class team, as well as our commitment to creating a more sustainable, accessible, and resilient food supply chain.”
This double accolade from the 2025 BIG Innovation Awards reinforces Cargill’s leadership in transforming agriculture into a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient sector while addressing critical global challenges in food security and environmental conservation.
