Cargill announces new senior appointments in META region

This reorganization aims to maintain strong growth momentum and enhance organizational efficiency within the META region.

TURKEY – Cargill Food is restructuring its leadership in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) region by appointing four new senior executives.

The new appointments are intended to enable Cargill to respond more swiftly to regional opportunities, foster closer collaboration between business units, and accelerate returns on investments.

The revised structure also supports Cargill’s 2030 vision of “One Cargill,” which seeks to create more opportunities for employee development and further strengthen the company’s culture.

In the recent announcement, Cem Beysel has been appointed as Senior Director of Functional Systems and Strategy for Cargill Food META; Cenk Erkan will serve as Senior Director of Sales and Commercial Marketing; Cem Bilge takes on the role of Senior Director for the Starches, Sweeteners, Texturizers, and Cocoa Product Group; and Kıvanç Çekiç has been named Senior Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

“With a strong local team based in Turkey, the META region continues to grow by combining Cargill’s global vision with local expertise. We are strengthening our presence in the region with increasing investments each year. Through these new appointments, we aim to accelerate this momentum, respond more swiftly to opportunities, and provide our employees with greater development opportunities,” said Murat Tarakçıoğlu, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Cargill Food META.

Cargill began its operations in Turkey in the 1960s and currently operates in the food, bioindustrial, and animal nutrition sectors.

In addition to its headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey, which opened in 1992, Cargill employs a total of 670 staff across offices in Adana and Ankara, as well as production facilities in Bursa, Balıkesir, Kocaeli, and Sakarya.

After adding the Middle East and North Africa in 2014 and Sub-Saharan Africa in 2018, Turkey became the administrative center for the META region, which includes the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.

As of 2021, following the inclusion of the company’s India-based food ingredient operations into META, Turkey has taken on the management of a region with a population of nearly 3 billion.

Cargill Turkey continues to prioritize sustainability to meet the world’s nutritional needs in a safe, responsible, and sustainable manner, developing innovative products that align with consumer trends and expectations at its four state-of-the-art production facilities.
